Straight answers, with CRA sources
Do I have to file a T2 if my corporation made no money?
Yes. Every resident corporation files a T2 each year, even with no income and no tax owing.
CRA and adminHow to authorize a tax preparer for your corporation on CRA
The fastest way is to add your preparer in My Business Account, using the ID number they give you.
Deadlines and penaltiesLate T2 penalties: what CRA charges and how to limit the damage
Filing your T2 late costs 5% of the tax you still owed on the due date, plus 1% for each full month late, for up to 12 months.
Before you start
What does "complete file" mean?
Every item on your upload checklist is in or marked not applicable, you've approved our CRA authorization request, and you've signed the engagement letter. We confirm it within 1 business day and give you your filing date in writing.
Do you do my bookkeeping?
No. We file from books you've finished: a balanced trial balance and bank accounts reconciled to year-end. If your books aren't there yet, we'll point you to someone who can help.
Are you accountants or CPAs?
We're a tax preparation and filing service, not a CPA firm. We don't issue financial statements or do audit, review or Notice to Reader work. Every return is prepared and then checked by a second person.
What if my return is more complex than I thought?
We quote the difference before any more work happens. Accept it, or get a full refund less $49.
Which provinces do you cover?
Every province and territory except Quebec. Alberta corporations add the AT1 for $200.
